May 10, 2010 – Philippine First Automated Election

This day is really historical for me and for the country.
It’s my first time to vote and it’s also the first automated election of our country.
It’s good to see that a lot did their best and even endured the heat and long hours of waiting just to give their share for the country.
Hope everything turns out well and no anomalies and cheating were done.
It just saddens me that our country never learns and still treats our election as a popularity contest and it really reflects on the on-going election results.
I rooted for the Transformers since I believe that they can change our country for the better. Their ways might be different and new to us but I believe it’s effective in a way and can somehow be reflected through what they have done and hopefully will still do in the future.
Though they might be low on numbers (even if it’s still early to say), I don’t regret voting them or even thought that my vote just got wasted. Actually it’ll be wasted if I haven’t voted for the one whom I thought would lead our country the best. It’s just most people really don’t like to be disciplined.
My bet might not have won but complaining and reacting won’t do much and won’t even help a bit.
What I and I suggest doing is to cooperate and support whoever wins the election.
They might not be the best or the ones we rooted for but still they can be through unity, with the help of each and every Filipino. Whether we like them or not but still I believe that we all have the same goal and that’s to have a better Philippines. Let’s try to put our trust to whoever they are since they are the ones chosen by the majority of our countrymen.
It may be repeated again and again but the change really starts within ourselves. It may be difficult but nothing is impossible. It’s worth a shot. Let’s not just make a single day historical, but also the incoming 6 years for our country.
If it’ll be possible, I hope the other presidentiables should be considered to be appointed as advisers. Their platforms and ideas might be of a good use for our country. It’ll be all for our country anyway.
